Pourtant mon bras continue à balancer du tract vers le passant. Je sais qu’il faut tenir. Ne serait-ce que pour elles, les inépuisables, dont le bras a la vigueur d’une jeune fille.

Puis, un homme de mon âge, habillé dans un négligé étudié qui ne manque pas de chic, arrive vers moi avec une jolie fillette. Il refuse mon tract d’un geste autain que confirment une moue dédaigneuse et ces mots : « Franchement, vous n’avez que ça à faire ! ».

Qui est-il celui-là pour me balancer son mépris à la gueule ? Il n’est pas d’accord ? Soit ! Qu’il vienne discuter !

Agacé, mon cerveau se réveille de la léthargie dans laquelle il sombrait, impulse à mes muscles une force nouvelle, à mon cœur de la conviction. Et la colère se meut très vite en joie. Je sais pourquoi je suis là. Pour ne pas laisser le monde être façonné par ceux-là, avec leurs certitudes et leur condescendance.

Je reprends. La pluie a cessé. Un rayon de soleil perce les nuages gris. Je vais vers eux avec le sourire, de la bienveillance et un peu d’humour. D’autres militants arrivent en s’excusant du retard. On finira en chantant.

Après la pluie, le beau temps.
